Water Fun In Croatia: Aquaparks For Family Trips
Let’s be honest—when summer hits hard, there's nothing quite like jumping into a pool of cool water and hearing the kids scream with joy down a waterslide. And for many families from the Czech Republic and Slovakia, Croatia is the go-to summer destination. Sun, sea, and now… some seriously amazing aquaparks. Here are three of the best ones that are 100% worth adding to your holiday plan.
Istralandia – Brtonigla, Istria
If you’re heading to the northwestern coast, near Umag or Novigrad, Istralandia is a must. It’s one of the biggest and most awarded waterparks in Croatia—TripAdvisor even ranked it among the top 5 in Europe!
With over 20 slides, a giant wave pool, and loads of space to spread out, it’s easy to spend a whole day here. The Free Fall slide gives you that stomach-dropping thrill, and kids absolutely go wild for the Pirate Lagoon and water playgrounds. There are foam parties in summer and even aqua fitness for parents who don’t want to just lie around.
We were here two days in a row. Clean, safe, lots of lifeguards. Our boys (6 and 11) had the time of their lives.
For those who want to continue their fun - there is a big choice of accommodations. Many families stay at Camping Park Umag. If you prefer a hotel, Aminess Maestral in nearby Novigrad is a comfy spot with great food and a kids’ club.
Aquacolors – Poreč, Istria
Closer to Poreč, you’ll find Aquacolors, a newer and super sleek waterpark that’s all about colorful fun and modern vibes. It’s smaller than Istralandia, but honestly? That’s not a bad thing—especially if you’re traveling with younger kids or grandparents and don’t want to walk miles between slides.
Here, you’ve got Magicone, a huge funnel slide that feels like you’re getting flushed into fun, and Looping Rocket, where the floor drops from under you. But don’t worry—there’s also a chill lazy river, wide family rafting slides, and splash zones for the littlest ones.
Speaking of nearby—Camping Bijela Uvala is just a short walk or drive away. It’s one of the most popular campsites for Czech and Slovak tourists, with nice mobile homes and shaded pitches. For something more upscale, Hotel Molindrio Plava Laguna is a great family-friendly choice with pools and playgrounds.
Perfect size for a family. Not overwhelming. We stayed nearby and came two times during the week. Slides were amazing and no long lines.
Dalmatia Aquapark – Šibenik, Dalmatia
If your road trip takes you further south—say, around Šibenik or Split—you’ve still got a great option: Dalmatia Aquapark, located in the Amadria Park resort. It might be smaller than the Istrian giants, but it’s perfect for families with younger kids or those wanting a relaxed vibe.
There’s a nice mix of twisty slides, water cannons, and a gentle lazy river for floating along. Kids love the central climbing structure with mini waterfalls and surprise splashes. And since it’s part of a big resort, you’ve got cafes, clean changing rooms, and easy access to the beach right next door.
Not as intense as the big parks up north, but perfect for our 4-year-old. And we loved relaxing with a coffee while she splashed around safely.
If you are planning to stay here for more than 1 day, there is a Hotel Andrija—Croatia’s first hotel designed just for kids, with themed rooms and a full entertainment program. If you’re into camping, Camping Solaris is huge and well-equipped, with beach access and plenty of space to relax after a waterpark day.
Compared to the northern parks, Dalmatia Aquapark is a bit more chill and beachy—it’s ideal if you want a mix of slides and seaside without the huge crowds.
Croatia's aquaparks are a guaranteed hit for families from Czechia and Slovakia. They're easy to reach, full of fun, and perfect for those hot summer days when the beach just isn’t enough. Pack your swimsuits, grab the kids, and make a splash—your Croatian adventure just got a whole lot cooler!
