Germany might be famous for castles, sausages, and fairy-tale towns — but it also knows how to make a serious splash! From tropical vibes under a giant dome to looping slides that make your heart race, these are the best water parks in Germany that’ll make you forget all about sightseeing (well, almost). Pack your swim gear — here we go!
Therme Erding – The Biggest (and Maybe the Coolest)
Just outside Munich, Therme Erding is not just a water park — it’s an entire water world. It’s actually the biggest thermal spa on the planet, and its slide area, Galaxy, has nearly 30 slides for every thrill level. Think high-speed loops, racing slides, and even ones with VR goggles!
Want to chill instead? There’s a giant wave pool (with 2-meter waves!), tropical palm trees everywhere, and an open roof when the sun’s out.
Being in Germany with Teens has been quite an adventure. Here is a place the entire family can enjoy from the Wave Pools to a variety of slides both inside and out.
Tropical Islands – Beach Weather All Year Round
Who needs the Caribbean when you have a beach inside a blimp? Set in an old airship hangar near Berlin, Tropical Islands keeps it tropical 365 days a year. We’re talking warm air, palm trees, a huge lagoon, waterslides, and even a sandy beach. Yes, indoors.
There’s also a rainforest with over 50,000 plants, a mini shopping street, spa zones, and fun extras like mini-golf and bowling.
There is really a lot to discover and especially with children it is a lot of fun here. Especially beautiful was the outdoor area Amazonia, really great in the sun. And overall the temperatures are very pleasant, not too cool. Gastronomically, there is also a lot on offer and it tastes good too.
Rulantica – Viking Vibes and Slide Action
Next to Europa-Park, Germany’s top theme park, lies Rulantica — a Nordic-themed water paradise. It’s packed with over 50 attractions, from wild slides like the “Vikingløp” racer to calm lazy rivers and a lovely adults-only relaxation area called Hyggedal.
Everything is super well-designed and themed — you’ll feel like you’ve landed in a magical Viking land with water instead of snow.
The slides are superb we spent an excellent day with the children needless to say that in the evening they were exhausted of happiness!A super wave that deserves its name!! I recommend.
Aqualand Freizeitbad – Cologne’s Splashy Secret
In the middle of Cologne, Aqualand is a great combo of fun and chill. It’s got some pretty intense slides, like the “AquaLoop” where you literally do a full loop, and “Boomerang,” which swings you up a steep wall before dropping you.
If that’s too much adrenaline, don’t worry — the spa area is lovely, with warm pools and cozy saunas to relax in afterward.
Center Parcs Park allgau – Family Fun with a View
Tucked into the Allgäu mountains, this park is part of the Center Parcs family and is perfect for a weekend escape. The main water area, Aqua Mundo, has wave pools, a lazy river, bubbling hot tubs, and the crazy-fun Aqua Crater slide.
It’s super family-friendly — kids have their own water playgrounds, and it never feels too crowded, even during holidays.
So there you have it — five splash-tastic water parks across Germany, each with its own vibe and surprises. Whether you're sliding through a Viking world, swimming under palm trees in winter, or racing your friends down twisting tubes, one thing’s for sure: Germany knows how to do water parks right.
