Cold Weather Isn't A Problem: Finland's Waterparks

When Finland’s stunning nature and cozy cabins aren’t enough to shake off the travel itch, there’s another way to dive into the local spirit — waterparks! Yes, the land of saunas and snow has some seriously cool spots to splash, slide, and soak. If you’re chasing thrills with your kids, friends, or just a big inflatable donut, these three Finnish waterparks are absolutely worth your towel time.

Serena Waterpark

Let’s start with Finland’s largest waterpark — Serena Waterpark, just 25 km from Helsinki. Tucked into the middle of a forest, it mixes natural beauty with serious splash power. What makes Serena a winner? It’s got everything: crazy indoor tube slides, massive outdoor pools in summer, and a wild water jungle for kids.

But wait, there's more. The Black Hole slide is a pitch-black tunnel adventure that’s not for the faint-hearted, and the wild river ride outdoors is a must in the warmer months. And when you're done screaming down slides, the traditional Finnish saunas are waiting to mellow you out.

Supper clean everywhere ! All slides safe ,fun and so many of them !! Plenty of what to do in doors and outside.

Puuhamaa

Calling all little adventurers! Puuhamaa, located in Tervakoski, is like stepping into a childhood dream. This place isn’t just a waterpark — it’s a giant playground with water slides, obstacle courses, trampolines, pedal cars, and mini golf. But its water zone is where it really makes a splash.

Expect wide open pools, gentle slides perfect for kids, and an atmosphere that feels more like a summer camp than a commercial park. There's no pressure to line up for mega slides — it’s all about relaxed fun. Families love the space to picnic, and the all-day pass covers everything inside. No surprise it’s rated around 4.3 stars — simple, charming, and totally kid-approved.

There are lots of things to do and the best thing is that all the activities are suitable for parent& child interaction - talking about quality time. I love that you can bring your own food and grill it yourself for free.

Tropiclandia

Who says it has to be summer to go swimming in Finland? Tropiclandia in Vaasa brings the tropics to your travel itinerary, with palm trees, toasty indoor pools, and a solid 4-star rating. It’s especially magical in winter — imagine watching snow fall outside while you float in +32°C water.

Inside, you’ll find slides for all courage levels — from lazy river rides to the Turbo Slide that launches you into splash-heaven at full speed. For the littlest swimmers, there’s a pirate-themed area, and adults can soak in the outdoor jacuzzis or relax in warm saunas. It’s a full-on holiday in swimwear, no plane ticket to the Caribbean required.

A great spa, well suited for kids all ages. The pools are not too deep, so it feels safe. Staff was very nice and there was snacks and food available. The pools and showers were clean.
